Hundreds of high school athletes from 4A and 5A programs across southeastern Idaho converged on Pocatello High School’s Lookout Credit Union Field this week for the District 5 track and field championships, competing for district titles and qualifying spots in next week’s state meet.

The multi-event championship brought together competitors from schools throughout the region, with athletes vying for supremacy across dozens of track and field disciplines. Among those featured was Pocatello High School senior Jack Enslinger, who was photographed competing in the triple jump during the meet.

Top finishers at the district level will advance to the state meet, continuing what has been an active spring sports season for Bannock County student-athletes. Pocatello-area athletics have seen significant postseason action in recent weeks, with several local programs preparing for high-stakes competition.

The Lookout Credit Union Field venue at Pocatello High School served as the host site for the district-level showdown, bringing together the region’s top prep track talent ahead of the statewide competition. Southeast Idaho has seen a strong spring for student academic and athletic achievement, with schools across Bannock County fielding competitive programs in multiple disciplines.
