Multiple motorists collided with a moose on Interstate 86 west of Pocatello Wednesday night, resulting in injuries and significant traffic delays.
The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m., when at least three vehicles struck the animal. The collision caused one vehicle to roll over and partially blocked eastbound lanes for more than an hour.
Emergency responders from Idaho State Police, Power County Sheriff’s Office, Fort Hall EMS, and local emergency medical services attended the scene. Crews assisted those involved and worked to clear the roadway.
Several people were transported to the hospital following the crash. As of Thursday morning, authorities had not released information regarding the condition of the patients.
