Pocatello POW-MIA Group Plans July 25 Motorcycle Rodeo at American Falls Fairgrounds

The Pocatello POW-MIA Awareness Association is hosting its annual Motorcycle Rodeo on July 25 at the Power County Fairgrounds in American Falls, bringing together veterans, families, and community supporters for a day centered on honoring prisoners of war and those missing in action.

The nonprofit organization, which channels its efforts toward raising awareness for POW-MIA service members while also supporting the Pocatello Veterans Home and various local charities, has planned a full slate of activities for the event. Attendees can expect a motorcycle rodeo competition, vendor booths, a tribute ceremony, food, raffle prizes, and live music from Scarlett Rain.

Organizers describe the gathering as family-friendly, welcoming riders and non-riders alike to take part in a day of community and remembrance. The association’s press release invited attendees to “come enjoy the camaraderie of veterans, the joy of patriotism and the spirit of freedom we have as Americans.”

Supporting Veterans and Local Charities

The Pocatello POW-MIA Awareness Association operates as a nonprofit with a dual mission: keeping the memory of unaccounted-for service members alive while directing tangible support toward veterans living and being cared for in the region. Proceeds and partnerships from events like the Motorcycle Rodeo feed directly into that work, benefiting the Pocatello Veterans Home and other charitable causes in Southeast Idaho.

The event reflects a broader tradition in communities across Idaho of honoring military sacrifice through grassroots civic activity. Gatherings like this one bring together veterans’ groups, local businesses, and families in a setting that reinforces the values of service and remembrance that run deep throughout Bannock County and the surrounding region.

Sponsorships and Volunteers Still Needed

The association is actively seeking sponsorships and volunteers ahead of the July 25 event. Businesses and individuals interested in supporting the cause can find more information, including donation options, at powmiarodeo.org. Organizers say volunteer participation is essential to pulling off a successful event and encourage community members to get involved in whatever capacity they can.

American Falls, the Power County seat located roughly 25 miles west of Pocatello along I-86, provides a central and accessible venue for participants traveling from across Southeast Idaho. The Power County Fairgrounds offers the space needed to accommodate the range of activities planned for the day.

For Bannock County residents looking for other community events this summer, Pocatello’s Fort Hall Replica is also in the middle of its 63rd season, offering a look at regional history alongside the summer’s broader slate of local gatherings.
