Pocatello police are investigating a homicide reported Thursday afternoon near Laab’s Apartments in the 1100 block of North Main Street.
Officers responded to a disturbance report at about 2:10 p.m. and found a man dead when they arrived. Police said the death was not a shooting.
A man described as a person of interest was detained in connection with the death. He was at the scene when officers arrived. Police have not released either man’s name.
North Main Street remained partially blocked as of 5 p.m. Thursday. Police asked the public to avoid the area until further notice and said there was no current threat to the public.
The Pocatello Police Department planned to release additional information Friday.
