A Grace, Idaho man who was shot while allegedly attempting to force his way into a home has been arrested and charged with multiple crimes stemming from the incident, Custer County authorities announced.
Douglas A. Flagg, 47, was shot Tuesday while attempting to break into a residence at Mount McCaleb Estates. After being shot, Flagg called 911 himself. He was transported to a local hospital, treated for his injuries, and released.
Custer County deputies arrested Flagg on Thursday — two days after the shooting — and booked him on three charges: attempted burglary, aggravated assault, and malicious injury to property.
Authorities noted that Flagg and the homeowner were acquainted with one another prior to the incident.
