A midmorning collision between two cars at a Pocatello intersection Thursday left five children hospitalized after one of the vehicles was deflected into a group of youngsters standing on a nearby corner, Pocatello police reported.

The crash took place at 11:48 a.m. at the junction of Barton Road and South Fourth Avenue. The children had been waiting to cross the street when the collision between the two cars pushed one vehicle into them.

Children Taken to Local Hospital With Non-Life-Threatening Injuries

All five children were transported to a local medical facility for treatment. Authorities indicated that none of the injuries are expected to be life-threatening, though specific details about the nature or severity of each child’s condition were not made public. Both drivers involved in the initial crash were assessed by personnel at the scene.
