Four Bonneville Bees Earn 5A All-Tournament Recognition After Third-Place Finish

Four players from the Bonneville Bees baseball program received 5A state All-Tournament honors following the team’s third-place finish at this year’s state tournament — a step back from the program’s position as defending state champions, but a showing that still produced significant individual recognition.

Senior Carter Bowen headlined the group, earning All-Tournament pitcher honors. Bowen also claimed East Idaho Sports baseball Player of the Year recognition, capping a standout final season at Bonneville. Joining him on the All-Tournament list were Taye Lords and Michael McCarty, both selected as All-Tournament hitters and fielders, along with Lincoln Stuart, who earned All-Tournament pitcher recognition alongside Bowen.

Bonneville’s Individual Standouts

The four selections reflected the depth of talent Bonneville brought into the state tournament as the reigning 5A champion. Entering the postseason with a target on their backs, the Bees battled through the bracket before ultimately settling for third place. While the championship defense fell short, the individual performances of Bowen, Lords, McCarty, and Stuart earned them spots on the All-Tournament team chosen by selectors Jack Esplin and Bo Bateman.

Sage Medeiros added to Bonneville’s hardware by being named Tournament MVP — a significant individual honor recognizing the most outstanding performer across the full field of 5A competitors.

Full All-Tournament Field

Beyond the Bonneville contingent, several other programs placed players on the All-Tournament roster. Skyview contributed three selections: pitcher Elijah Strong and hitters/fielders Tyler Russell and Aaron Vavold. Sandpoint had the largest representation among non-Bonneville programs, with four players honored — Soren Caprio, Mason Little, Parker Reichart, and Brennan Shaw, all recognized as All-Tournament hitters and fielders. Twin Falls’ Maddox Stadelmeir rounded out the All-Tournament selections in the hitter/fielder category.

The All-Tournament team was assembled by Esplin and Bateman, whose selections recognized standout individual contributions across the 5A field regardless of team outcome.

For Bonneville, the tournament capped a season in which the program remained among the elite in Idaho’s largest classification even without repeating as champions. The Bees’ four All-Tournament honorees and a Tournament MVP represent a meaningful return from a program with strong expectations each spring. As the school year winds down, Bonneville athletic programs continue to draw attention across multiple sports at the state level.

What Comes Next

With the 5A state tournament concluded, Bonneville baseball now looks toward offseason development and roster building ahead of the 2027 campaign. Senior Carter Bowen and other graduating players will leave significant shoes to fill. The program will look to returning underclassmen — including those who gained experience in the state tournament environment this spring — to form the core of next year’s contender. Meanwhile, the Idaho high school baseball community will use the offseason to evaluate talent and prepare for another competitive 5A season across the state.
