Brady’s of Idaho Falls to Close After 40 Years in Business
IDAHO FALLS — A longtime Idaho Falls retailer known for hot tubs, saunas, exercise equipment, and water treatment systems is closing its doors for good after four decades in business. Brady’s announced the closure this week through a Facebook post from owner Brad Brady, citing both a personal loss and a failed sale effort.
In the post, Brady explained that the death of his brother and co-owner Steve last year prompted him to consider retirement. The family spent roughly seven months negotiating a sale of the business, but the deal fell apart at the last moment when a manufacturer withdrew its support.
“We have no choice but to close our doors forever,” Brady wrote in the announcement.
A Family Business Rooted in Idaho Falls
The Brady family’s commercial history in Idaho Falls stretches back to 1965, when Brad Brady was just four years old. By grade school, he was already part of the family enterprise — distributing flyers for the family vacuum business as a child, repairing vacuums by age 10, and installing water softeners by 12.
After serving in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Coral Sea, Brady returned home with a back injury and, in his own words, discovered the restorative benefits of hydrotherapy. That personal experience steered the family toward the hot tub industry, where Brady’s built its four-decade reputation serving the eastern Idaho community.
Closeout Sale Underway
With the business winding down, Brady’s is holding a final inventory clearance sale. Brady expressed deep gratitude to the community that supported the store across generations of customers.
“I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support over the decades,” he wrote.
The closure is the latest in a string of business changes across the region. The Shilo Inn in Pocatello shut down earlier this year with employees reporting they received no advance notice, while other parts of Southeast Idaho have seen new commercial activity, including the Barin Group opening a new facility in Pocatello.
What Comes Next
Brady’s has not publicly detailed a timeline for when the final sale will conclude or when the physical location will close. The store’s remaining inventory is being liquidated as quickly as possible, according to Brady’s public statement. No announcement has been made regarding the future of the retail space. Customers interested in purchasing remaining merchandise are encouraged to visit the store directly.
